High Horse Entertainment is a joint venture between Jay Mattis and Timothy Rapp, with a mission to bring the competitive arcade genre online and modernize it for the 21st century.
Before joining forces, Jay and Tim both got their start at Activision working on franchises like Call of Duty, Guitar Hero, and Tony Hawk. After a combined 20 years in the industry, they decided to take their experience making online games and start an independent studio focused on delivering accessible competitive titles.Early history
High Horse Entertainment was formed in early 2015. After spending almost a year developing networking technology and infrastructure for their future titles, they began work on Disc Jam as a stress-test for their netcode. Eight weeks later, they debuted the first playable version at IndieCade 2015. After an overwhelmingly positive reception, the decision was made to develop Disc Jam into a first-class product.Recent
Since IndieCade, Disc Jam has been opened up to the community on Steam and High Horse has been running periodic playtests to gather feedback directly from fans. Over 100,000 people have signed up to help test the game and players from all over the world have been competing online and driving development. At E3 2016, High Horse announced that Disc Jam is officially coming to Playstation 4 and had the game playable on the console at MIX.
